So, I went and found my Texan town. Β The fact that they broke the Guinness Book of Records for baking the BIGGEST gingerbread man, “Smitty” made me feel a sense of unusual belonging.
Smithville is a city in Bastrop County, Texas, United States, near the Colorado River. Β Their population is short of one: ME.
We have church spires in England to find places. Β You have these.
Found myself a spunky little caravan to get me started.
Then spotted this little theatre ( Note : spelled correctly) Β I could work here and dress up as a cowgirl/Joker/Mad Hatter and be an eccentric writer/artist. Β It’s perfect.Β
And become a star!
I’d eat my dinner here in this quaint lil’ cafe..
Take pictures of wall art..
And become the ‘Door Lady’ for real.Β

Smithville, Texas – The quaint Texas Hill Country Town where Sandra Bullock and Harry Connick, Jr. filmed the very cute movie, “Hope Floats.”

I didn’t say it, it was one of Will’s.
As it’s his birthday, you can’t turn on the telly or open a newspaper without being bombarded by quotes from the bard.
See what you’re missing?

Well, they say that all great wordsmiths are born around this time.
I see that I’m missing the usual fun!

If you drive up toward Ft. Worth, stop by Granbury. It’s my take on small town cool. There’s not that much to Granbury. It’s on the Brazos River and there’s a small lake there but my take on it is that a house on the lake is nothing short of interesting. http://www.granbury.org

I can’t believe they spelled ‘theatre’ correctly! Was that your doing, Jules? And you need to publish that cowgirl picture of yourself in every post, because I’ll never get tired of looking at it. π

Yes, I’m getting them sorted on the spelling front, Mr. Gorilla Bananas! Baby steps…
Awww, thank you. Even though my hair looks like straw and I’ve no make up on and sporting my ‘out in the wilderness’ cowgirl. You Sir, are a true gent!
