And the (cheap) bottle of wine that he sent her anonymously all made sense now. All the while, he eased the knife from his pocket — hidden from her view (bwa-ha-ha-ha!) — while he blew a moist kiss in her direction.
She knew it was love even though it WAS All Hallows Eve.
