Good morning isolators! It’s pandemic playtime! Today I bring you another task to lighten your day and bring amusement to you and your friends.
Getting sketchy isn’t something I have a problem with – the sketchier the better! If you don’t know how to be sketchy – you’ve come to the right place because today, isolators, we are gonna start using the lead in the old pencil 😉
Trust me – it’s not as hard as you think (said the bishop to the nun)
I don’t know why but it’s all become a bit “Carry On Blogging” over here…Sorry….
I noticed on the TV the other day that an illustrator called Rob Biddulph has put a couple of videos up on how to draw. Ten minutes in and you have a cracking little picture that you can send to someone digitally or as a card to cheer them up in this time of global crisis.
If I can do it – anyone can. Check it out:
And then because I got overconfident I went totally rogue and started to follow other artists and drew myself
Today I challenge you to find your inner cartoonist and send me pictures of your art! Wherever you are in the world – Get Sketchy and …

Hi Jules, you’ll be glad to hear this one came through the normal channels! Out of interest, when you had breathing difficulties was it after coughing? I had some virus in December before all this blew up and the symptoms were just the same, it started with a dry cough for a few days. Then I started feeling rough, I never took my temp, but after I coughed I was really struggling for breath. I’m wondering if it was around before we were actually told (conspiracy theorist that I am).

Yay! About bloody time!
Yes, it was after coughing. I still feel breathless – as in I have to catch my breath for the simplest of tasks. It’s very frustrating.
It wouldn’t bloody surprise me, Rick. There’s a lot they ain’t telling us. I’ve never known of a global shut down and we’ve witnessed many bad cases of flu and ebola! Something is awry. Trust no-one.

Yes, agree with you, there is something not right about this. I’m still coughing a bit now, 3 months later and as you said, I have to kind of stop and get my breath after coughing. Sounds too similar doesn’t it.

It sounds very similar. It worries me because what damage is it doing? Something not right at all…
Be careful out there, Rick x

I would have expected no less from you.
Dav Pilkey has written and illustrated numerous popular, award-winning books for children, including the Captain Underpants, Dog Man and Dumb Bunnies series. He’s been wildly successful.
You ought to take a look at his work. My grandsons love it. Maybe inspiration for the next Jules book. There is a big market for quality illustrated books for young people.
There is another series called, “Bad Kitty” that my granddaughter, Savannah, loves.

Thank you, Larry 🙂
I LOVE Captain Underpants – protector of all things white and Cottony. H won a school competition going dressed as this character!
I have written a children’s story but don’t think I’m good enough to illustrate it. I know what my character looks like in my head but I’d struggle to create it. I need someone to draw it first! However, I’m all about bringing nonsense back for children – there’s not enough of it!

I really want to see this but the Disney Channel is down until the new one fires up in a couple of days! There’s also TOGO – (part of the same group/ story) that is out now on Disney and Tex’s mum is a direct relation to Togo!

What a great Wolf sketch! Here at the Compound we’re busy cleaning guns and loading mags to pass the time of day. No bad thing.

I have long suspected that it would be you that would help me get the lead back in my pencil , Dear Julesy !
I may just give that video a look-see. Maybe it can help me to finally draw a circle.
Those are really cute drawings. Tex looks as though he may have antlers, but overall I’d say take lesson #2…you got talent !
Love Ya.

Hahaha! You know it!
Yeah – that’s supposed to represent fur but now I only see antlers!
I think you should start a cooking with Terry Pandemic post – I’d love to see that. With cheese whizz, of course!
Love ya! X
